(The sergeant brings up another excellent point: Somehow, the Marine Corps believes that marriage qualifies you to be treated as a SNCO. No matter what. Suddenly, 21-year-old PFC Imanidiot who married the first girl he found in a bar rates a house, a car, pets, any alcohol of his choosing whenever he pleases, no curfew, money to buy whatever food he likes, the pleasure of a field-day free life, and no knocks in the middle of the night to randomly stand duty.) by Akinoluna at 11:53 4 BMW Z3 BMW Z4 I need my soft hair fix! When I have my hair pulled back, either in a bun for work or in a scrunchie at home when the hair is being a pain, the top part gets smooth. It’s all the se length and not curly and never crunchy with icky hairspray and if it’s dry, just smushing it with my fingers smoothes it all out. I didn’t realize HOW smooth until another Marine patted me on the head one day. Why, probably because I’m short and the top of my head is very accessible. He was shocked, “Wow your hair is SOFT!”

These days I might be living in pre-war Germany, or the southern United States during the time before the freedom-riders. Japan has taken on some good role models, ones that remind me how misguided policies can lead to sad endings.

      Bollywood Curry

Whenever I go into my local Indian restaurant, which is just about the only place I can get vegetarian food here, they have music playing that reminds me of those Bollywood pictures with all the girls in bright silks and satins batting their eyes at the men with white smiles and slicked-back hair. Dancing, dancing, always dancing, expressing lots of passion for life. You just know that those people like good food. Food expresses life as much as any other physical pleasure, and hunger drives us to the table in search of taste and satisfaction that will give us the energy to do other things like work, play, dance.

Our timing was perfect to see something truly impressive. A memorable day of seeing trains AND helicopters…Connor loved it.

Is it home if you don’t know the zipcode?
The enemy does not hide its goals: global domination, the annihilation of those who will not submit, the destruction of our way of life and the imposition of religious dictatorship that would create a would resembling Iran or Taliban Afghanistan. And, the mindless opposition to our efforts to win this conflict that we see from some quarters in the West only serves to encourage our enemies that they are winning and that Allah is on their side. There are times when all the world´s asleep
      The questions run too deep
For such a simple manShe said that one year of trying wasn’t really that long and was not an indication of anything wrong. She also said that about 30% of pregnancies end of in miscarriages but many people don’t realize it because they don’t monitor their bodies that closely so when a very early miscarriage happens they just think they got their period.forsikringen

      I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who i amThe only debate in the West should be how to win against Islam in the most efficient manner possible. Talk of retreat from Iraq or agonizing over what rights to give to jihadists - people who reject the very notion of Western style human rights, except when they can be used against us - is suicidal. It only serves to hide the reality of the war between Islam and the West and to embolden our enemies.
Quick…what’s the first place you think of when you hear the word “home”? Is it where you live now? Where you grew up? Possibly it’s somewhere you’ve lived along the way. In the past few months our family has called many different houses “home”. In one way or another they have been. Currently however we are a little out of sorts as a family and anxious to be “home”. Allow me to explain with a brief time line.

May 2-5: “Pack Out” of Kampala house. All household items divided into 3 different types of shipment and sent off to America. We had no destination address since we did not know before we moved where we would settle once we arrived.

Don Cherry has to be the most politically incorrect commentator I’ve ever seen. And it makes for great tv. In anticipation of his work with NBC for the rest of the Cup Finals, here are a couple classic Don Cherry moments.

Poor Ron MacLean, can’t be an easy job trying to keep Grapes in check.

I am not arguing here in favor of Civil Gideon. I don’t know yet whether I support it or not. I am concerned that it focuses only on the indigent, when so many of the middle class cannot afford legal services either. I also don’t think that being represented by counsel is any guarantee that you’ll negotiate more effectively at the mediation table or even fare better in court–I have seen my share of unrepresented people outbargain a supposedly more sophisticated opponent with counsel, as well as people whose best interests were ignored by their lawyers. And the problem may also not be that pro se litigants are pressured to accept settlements they should not. On the contrary, I have seen pro se litigants walk away from fair settlements to defeat in court later, simply because they lacked legal advice to recognize that settlement as a fair one. And I personally would rather see this energy channeled against tort reform, before the case for a civil right to counsel becomes moot. But these are concerns well beyond the scope of this post.

I share Engler’s viewpoint with you, my colleagues, to invite us all to reflect on our role at the table. He raises questions we should stop and face.

Is our goal to settle cases? Or is it to advance justice? Perhaps we can achieve both.

But let us be careful–very careful–not to mistake the first for the second.

Building peace through citizen media: a blogger’s call for action

Peace through citizen journalismI am sorry that my schedule won’t allow me to attend the upcoming Fifth International Forum on Online Dispute Resolution which will be held in Liverpool, England, on April 19-20, 2007. I would have liked the opportunity to meet innovative thinker and agent for progressive change, Sanjana Hattotuwa, who will be among the speakers.

      Pierre McGuire, Who Died?

Between the 2nd and 3rd sets of the Rafael Nadal and Albert Montanes NBC cut to a short interview of Daniel Alfredsson with Pierre McGuire. It was possibly the worst interview I’ve ever seen, albeit a short one. For a guy who seems so loud when talking from between the benches, McGuire was so dull and monotonous that I almost wanted to change the channel, or at least mute the tv.

      For the past year or so a thread on Digital Home has been discussing McGuire, as well as some other commentators. Things seem evenly split, with an almost 50-50 divide on how good McGuire is. The most interesting post was a response to how some of the commentators stacked up to each other. Moderator JohnnyCanuck felt that;
